Behavioral Problems in children involve a pattern of disruptive behaviors that last for at least 6 months and cause problems in school, at home, and in social situations. These problems interfere with their normal day-to-day activities and the activities of the classroom. Behavioral problems include but are not limited to temper tantrums, bullying, stealing, lying, and destroying property, defiance, and disobedience.
Relationship Conflicts include particular patterns of behavior that can be important signs that a relationship is at risk. Interactions that include disrespect, defensiveness, and criticism are signs that a relationship is in crisis.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a disorder in which a person has difficulty recovering after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event(s). The condition may last months or years that can bring back memories of the trauma accompanied by intense emotional and physical reactions. Symptoms may include nightmares or unwanted memories of the trauma, avoidance of situations that bring back memories of the trauma, heightened reactions, anxiety, or depressed mood.
Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest experienced in children, adolescents, and adults. It affects the way an individual feels, thinks, and behaves that can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. Symptoms include but are not limited to anxiety, insomnia, withdrawal from friends and family, crying, and clinginess.
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)/Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a chronic condition including attention difficulty, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness. Often begins in childhood and can persist into adulthood. It can contribute to low self-esteem, troubled relationships, and difficulty at school and work. Symptoms include limited attention and hyperactivity.
